The Golden Globes are almost here — and now, we’ve officially gotten the nominee list!

The nominee announcement didn’t seem to surprise many as most of the titles, in both the TV and film categories, were very popular among viewers. “The Banshees of Inisherin,” a dark comedy about a fractured friendship during the Irish Civil War, led the way with nominations at the Globes, racking up eight nods, including best picture in the musical or comedy genre, as well as for Martin McDonagh’s directing and screenplay. The multiverse sci-fi movie “Everything Everywhere All at Once” wasn’t far behind in nominations, earning six.

Representing Atlanta, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” which was predominantly filmed in Atlanta, scored two nominations. The first nomination went to Angela Bassett for her role as Queen Ramonda and another for Rihanna’s original song in the film, “Lift Me Up.” Bassett’s nomination is actually historic, as it marks the first-ever Golden Globes acting nomination for a Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film.
