The 95th Academy Awards is set to air live on Sunday, March 12 from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.
Who is hosting the 2023 Oscars?
Last year, Amy Schumer, Regina Hall, and Wanda Sykes shared hosting duties for the 2022 Oscars after three years of the show going hostless. This time around, the hosting torch will be passed back to Jimmy Kimmel, who hosted the show in 2017 and 2018.
Who will perform at the 2023 Oscars?
I’ll give you a hint: She just killed her Super Bowl halftime performance. That’s right, Rihanna will be taking the stage at the Oscars to perform her hit song from the Atlanta-filmed “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” soundtrack, “Lift Me Up.” There have also been rumors swirling around that Lady Gaga might take the stage for her rendition of “Hold My Hand” from the movie “Top Gun: Maverick.”
Who are the Georgia nominees to watch?
With so many projects and actors linked to Georgia, it’s no surprise that there are several nominees. “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” is nominated for a number of awards, including Angel Bassett being nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role; Ruth Carter being nominated for Best Costume Design; Camille Friend and Joel Harlow are nominated for Makeup and Hairstyling; and “Lift Me Up” is nominated for Best Music (Original Song). The movie is also nominated for Best Visual Effects.
“Top Gun: Maverick” is also looking to take home several awards. You may remember when we told you about the Atlanta-native pilot, Commander Frank J. Weisser, who actually got to perform flying scenes in the movie.

The action movie is nominated for Best Film Editing, Best Music (Original Song), Best Sound, Best Visual Effects, Best Writing (Adapted Screen Play), and the big award of the night, Best Picture.
“Atlanta” TV show alum, Brian Tyree Henry is also nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his contribution to “Causeway.”
