Calling all actors – this one is for you!

Producer, director and actor Mann Robinson is hosting his second annual hiring and casting event this weekend at his studio in Atlanta. “We have set our studio up to go into full production,” Mann said. “Whether it’s a sitcom, TV show, movie, that’s all lined up. So, the first one is a movie and we’re looking for actresses and actors and we’re also looking for crew as well.”

The last event Mann hosted had around 600 people in attendance and has even had quite a few success stories. “We have our acting classes every Sunday and we just did a TV show featuring Vivica Fox and a couple of other people. We were able to cast 10 people out of our actual class for that series.… so we have a lot of success stories,” Mann said.

Mann says if you’re interested in coming, it’s not only important to know the monologue or script you’ll recite but it goes beyond the words on the page. “Knowing the character breakdown. Anybody can say lines, memorize lines but we want to see the actual character in front of us and have a headshot too.”

Curious about the role? Don’t worry Mann breaks down exactly what type of role it is and what he’s looking for during the two-day event. “I call it a super thriller. It’s a Black woman lead. We cast from all over, New York, L.A., my whole intention this time is to cast the lead right from Georgia. It’s the age group anywhere between 35 to 45 and has to be able to represent multiple personalities in a split second. It’s intense.”

The second annual casting call by Mann Robinson Studios is happening this Saturday and Sunday from noon until 7 p.m. at Mann Robinson Studios. Get more information by visiting his website at mannrobinsonstudios.com.
