Tyler Perry signs four-movie deal with Amazon Studios

An epic partnership between Amazon Studios and Tyler Perry has officially been signed, sealed and (soon to be) delivered!

The deal has the media mogul writing, directing, and producing four features for Amazon Prime Video.

“I’m excited and grateful to start working with Amazon Studios to bring movies to Prime Video,” Perry said. “Jennifer Salke and the entire team have welcomed me with open arms, and I’m looking forward to continuing telling unique stories and bringing my next projects to the global audiences that they reach.”

Amazon Studios shared the exciting news on its Instagram page.

We know Perry is no stranger to the big screen – most recently, seeing success with the film he wrote, produced, and directed for Netflix, “A Jazzman’s Blues.” Perry’s recent credits also include the 12th installment of the beloved “Madea” franchise, “A Madea Homecoming” as well as “A Fall From Grace.”

On the television side of things, Perry has a number of series he’s created, directed and written – including “Sistas,” “Assisted Living,” “Ruthless,” “Bruh,” “Zatima,” and “The Oval.”

“Tyler Perry is undeniably one of the most prolific creators of our time,” head of Amazon Studios Jennifer Salke said. “He is a true multihyphenate who has defined his own incredible brand of storytelling and inspired people all over the world with his series and films. We are excited to collaborate with Tyler and his teams to bring even more of his fantastic signature films to our global audiences.”

The partnership with Perry and Amazon Studios will include Perry’s four features being released in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. As creative as Perry is, there is no telling what he will come up with for Amazon but one thing is for sure, it’ll be entertaining and most likely filmed right here in Atlanta at Tyler Perry Studios!
