AJC Peachtree Road Race returns for 54th year on July 4
Atlanta, get ready to put on your running shoes and get moving! The highly anticipated Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race is returning to town on the Fourth of July, bringing together runners worldwide for an unforgettable experience.
Celebrating its 54th year, the AJC’s Peachtree Road Race has become a genuine pride of Atlanta, and this year’s event is bound to be as thrilling as ever. Whether you’re a first-time runner or an elite athlete, this race is for everyone! In fact, its inclusivity is what has made it the largest 10K race in the world, bringing together a diverse group of people to celebrate fitness, community, and the spirit of Atlanta.
If you want your kids to join the fun, the Microsoft Peachtree Junior race, held before the big race on July 2, is perfect for them. Children ages 6-14 can participate in the timed 1-mile race in Piedmont Park, ending at the same finish line as the main race. And children under 14 can take part in the shorter Dash competition. While you’re there, bring the kiddos to the Track & Field Zone in the Meadow, where they can test their skills with mini hurdles, standing broad jumps, agility ladders, and other fun opportunities.
For those looking to train for the Peachtree Road Race, the Atlanta Track Club has got you covered. The In-Training for Peachtree program is a 10-week virtual training program that caters to runners and walkers of all skill levels.
