Metro Atlanta’s best Fourth of July events: Music, food and more

Whether you want a laid-back music and food experience or you want to party the night away, Atlanta has what you’re looking for as you ring in Independence Day! Line up to watch runners compete in the world’s largest 10K, indulge in delicious food truck fare or take in a major league baseball game without leaving the area. And don’t forget to cap your celebrations off with fabulous fireworks throughout the metro. Here are our recommendations for celebrating this July 4!

Southern Spirits

The Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History and the Kennesaw Museum Foundation will host an evening of food and drink in the museum. Tickets include two drinks (wine or beer) and a tasting plate and one featured spirit. Lawn seats for the city of Kennesaw’s spectacular fireworks display will follow.

Braves vs. Giants

What’s a better way to observe America’s independence than to celebrate its favorite pastime? See the Braves at their finest at Truist Park the day before the Fourth! Atlanta’s home team will face off against the San Francisco Giants.

Eats and Beats at East Point Farmers Market

While this isn’t an Independence Day event specifically, it’s a chance to get out inside the Perimeter and celebrate in your own way with great food and music. This longstanding, open-air farmers market offers an afternoon of fun strolling and buying!

AJC Peachtree Road Race

The 10K race the Atlanta Journal-Constitution calls the world’s largest will commence for the 55th time this July 4. The race attracts elite runners from all over the world, and it’s your chance to find a place along the 6.2-mile route to watch participants vie for top spots in their divisions.

Run, White and Blue July 4 race

If you’re not content on the sidelines, join in on the action with this 1K, 5K and 10K fun run at Halcyon in Alpharetta. This run is family-friendly and open to walkers, too!

Underground Atlanta Fourth of July Block Party

Games, food trucks and dancing will fill the night at one of the city’s biggest block parties of the summer. DJs will take the stage one after another to bring sounds of the ‘90s, 2000s and the hottest hits of today. This 21-and-up event will provide free BBQ for the first two hours, free entry until 4 p.m. and fireworks at nightfall!

Cartersville Fourth of July Celebration

Shop, eat and relax at Dellinger Park at Cartersville this July 4! The football field will fill up with celebratory activities - kids games, live music and more - during the afternoon, and Scott Thompson will take the concert stage at 8 p.m. Fireworks will start after dark!

Taste of Food Trucks - the Big Bang Celebration

An array of delicious, purchasable food, great music and entertainment and games for the kids: It’s a Fourth of July celebration for the whole family at Arbor Place Mall in Douglasville.

Fleetwood Mac: The Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute

Backyard BBQ Fest

Dunwoody Homeowners Association Farmers Market July 4 Cookout
