The new creative area was designed by UnitedHealthcare and Star-C, in partnership with “Sesame Street,” to improve the well-being of young children and families. The event will include Walkaround Elmo, giveaways, a photo booth, face painters, a balloon artist, pizza and ice cream, as well as backpack and book distribution. Local community organizations will also be present to provide family-friendly health education and social services information, and representatives from UnitedHealthcare will be on hand to answer health-care questions.
“Sesame Street”-themed decor and furniture, as well as “Sesame Street in Communities” content including storybooks on resilience featuring Muppets Karli, Lily and Alex is featured in the new space. These books discuss milestones and offer new tips for parents and caregivers on topics such as how to deal with change and how to cope with anxiety or sadness in children.
