Sneak Peak: Rooftop L.O.A. is coming to Midtown
A rooftop is always a good idea! And in midtown Atlanta? That’s a recipe for success!
I got the chance to preview Rooftop L.O.A.’s beautiful new space, and I’m already thinking about my next trip back.
Located on the roof of The Interlock in West Midtown, Rooftop L.O.A. (leave of absence) is a 21 and older establishment, with a three-district offering – the restaurant, pool and the grove. I decided to start my sneak peek with the grove because of the beautiful scenery. The grove is the section of Rooftop L.O.A. where you can relax, socialize, and take in the beautiful views of Midtown Atlanta.
Next up, we have the resort style pool. Equipped with poolside loungers, cabanas, its own bar, and even VIP sections, it’s the perfect spot for summer in Atlanta. Once again, you’re not going to beat the view you’ll get of midtown, so get those Instagram poses and captions ready!
And last but definitely not least, there’s the food. Just saying food is an understatement as it’s an 8,000-square-foot European full-service restaurant. Although I’m allergic to shellfish, I almost took a chance on the lobster rolls because they looked that good (and I heard they were). Luckily, there were so many options, so I got to enjoy some caviar sliders and even fulfill my sweet tooth with amazing desserts. Oh, and again, can we say scenery?! There is a wraparound terrace for outdoor seating and 360-degree views. They’re open for brunch, dinner and even late-night meals.
Co-founders, husband and wife duo, Kelvin and Mandy Slater, of Slater Hospitality, have been building and planning the opening of Rooftop L.O.A. since 2019. It’s been a long time coming for the Slaters, especially because not everyone thought their rooftop dreams could become a reality. “We started talking about the rooftop and what we would do -- this idea came up about the pool and we said we should really do that. My team was like ‘you’re crazy, we’re not putting a pool on the roof. How does that work?’ I said I’m not sure, but I think we can figure it out,” Mandy said as she laughed. “And that’s the kind of world we live in. We like to do that ‘what if’ when we do concepts, because why not?” Kelvin added.
My experience at Rooftop L.O.A. was a great one. I love the fact that you can tell the team at Slater Hospitality really paid attention to every detail in order to make sure every guest has the best possible time.
Rooftop L.O.A. will be open for your pleasure later this June.
